Job Description

Uber is looking for candidates to join the Driver Pricing team, a foundational part of the Mobility Marketplace, in the Toronto office. The team is central to the product development for one of Uber's most critical systems: how we price trips for drivers. We use a diverse set of scientific methodologies-from machine learning and optimization to experimentation and causal inference-to help balance and grow the marketplace.

In this role, you will apply your quantitative skills in machine learning, statistics, and economics to improve the Uber user experience and the overall marketplace performance. You'll be a key contributor to the team that designs, evaluates, and builds our systems for pricing trips for drivers.

As a Data Scientist, you will support key business initiatives by conducting data analysis, assisting in model development, and analyzing experiments. You will work closely with other scientists, product managers, and engineers, contributing to our team's mission and gaining invaluable hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications
Graduating or recently graduated with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields

Foundational knowledge of Python or R for data analysis
Familiarity with SQL
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant internship or project experience in data science, analytics, or a related field
A solid understanding of fundamental concepts in statistics and machine learning
Experience with data visualization tools
A strong desire to learn, ask questions, and solve problems
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Exposure to A/B testing or experimental design concepts
