NZQA is inviting applications for the role of NCEA and New Zealand Scholarship Marker for our 2026/2026 exam cycle.
This contract role is part-time, and manageable alongside a full-time job.

Delivering great outcomes for akonga (students) will be at the centre of what you do and how you work. All applicants must be based within New Zealand and have the appropriate right to work here.
Ko tau na i tenei turanga | What you'll bring to the role:
Curriculum knowledge and teaching experience for the appropriate standard within the New Zealand Curriculum
Understanding and experience of standards-based assessment and the principles of NCEA and NZ Scholarship
High level of professionalism, with a strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity
Strong ability to work and collaborate effectively as part of a team
The ability to work and deliver to inflexible deadlines.
The ability to implement and maintain appropriate administrative and communication systems.
Knowledge of the rights and responsibilities of the partners of the Treaty of Waitangi in an educational assessment setting
Proven willingness to navigate and engage with online-based systems and support models
Reliable access to the internet, a smart phone, laptop, or tablet
Commitment to upholding the NZQA code of conduct and act in a way that is fair, equitable and promotes a positive experience for learners
Work in a way that is both safe and responsible and does not compromise the health and safety of self or others in the workplace
Act in accordance with privacy and security policies and procedures when managing both digital and paper-based information
