Job Title: Laboratory Technician I
Duration: 12 Months -Possible of extension
Location:
2 days/week in Framingham, MA
3 days/week in Waltham, MA
Overview:
Sanofi’s contingent workforce program, FLEXT Direct, is seeking a Laboratory Technician I to support daily lab operations across two Massachusetts locations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with standard laboratory equipment, a solid understanding of lab compliance, and the ability to maintain a safe and organized lab environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain basic laboratory equipment (e.g., pH meters, balances, centrifuges).
Ensure lab compliance through regular calibration, standardization, and equipment maintenance.
Carry the Environmental Monitoring System (EMS) and after-hours mobile phone for critical instrument alerts.
Conduct weekly laboratory safety checks.
Prepare, scan, and archive laboratory logbooks and documents.
Support pipette calibration and coordinate with the Sanofi Metrology department for timely equipment calibration.
Monitor and track expiration dates of chemicals/reagents; ensure compliance with reagent handling protocols.
Maintain and perform routine checks on lab infrastructure, including:
Water baths, centrifuges, cuvettes, fume hoods, sinks, eyewash stations
Refrigerators, freezers, cold rooms, incubators, and defrosting systems
Datalogger systems
Ensure overall cleanliness and safety in the Analytical Development (AD) laboratories.
Must have:
High School diploma or GED with minimum 3 years of lab experience,
OR
Associate’s degree or Biotechnology certificate with minimum 1 year of lab experience.
Proficient in operating lab equipment (e.g., pH meters, analytical balances).
Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Nice to have:
Prior experience working in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment.
