Staff Software Engineer – Fullstack

The Home Buying team is building a brighter future for all by unlocking the dream of Home Ownership for all Australians. This is achieved through the end-to-end management of the Banks Home Loan business including distribution through proprietary and third-party channels, acquisition, retention, customer experience, risk, change and continuous improvement.

As a hands-on technology leader with full stack experience, you will be leading a team of engineers who will be designing & implementing solutions as well as influencing your Value streams tech leads , Product Owner & Crew Tech lead. Being product aligned and customer obsessed, you’ll own what you build (full cycle engineering model) and will be working in the latest technologies and frameworks (.Net Core, React, Angular, Azure, AWS, Containerisation with the potential for NodeJS/ NextJS & AI).

Act as a great mentor & people leader who can build a good community of engaged & curious engineers who find excitement in building amazing products for our customers
Have solid experience in the full software development lifecycle using Agile practices and DevSecOps
Have expertise designing and building Core and Web API’s, web applications and running independent PoC’s
Are confident in their solution design capabilities, stakeholder engagement and leading technical conversations in group forums & can lead and nurture our engineers to do the same.
Actively get involved in continuous learning, experimentation, and innovation, ready to apply and promote industry best patterns and practices
Tech Skills
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;
Backend experience with .Net or Node.js
Frontend experience with React.js or Next.js
CI/CD Tools – Team City, Jenkins, Octopus or GitHub Actions etc
Observability tools such as Splunk, Prometheus & Grafana
Cloud knowledge with AWS
Containerization using dockers
