Overview

Title: Front-end Developer

Reports to: Director of Development

Location: Canada

We are hiring for a part-time 20 hour per week, ambitious and self-driven Front-end Contract Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate is an individual who takes pride in their work, loves to solve problems, has a passion for learning and enjoys exploring new technologies to stay ahead of the curve.

You will

Support existing web and mobile interfaces by maintaining, developing and testing existing/new code
Work with project teams to establish goals,requirements, and estimates
Work to produce code of high quality and performance
Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and practices
Other duties as requested by management related to the company mission and vision
Be available for calls at 6am PST.
You have or you are

Proficient with: NodeJS, Next.js, React, Carbon Design System, WordPress, Tailwind, CSS, JSON, HTML, YAML.
Able to resolve security vulnerabilities
Able to work with our deployment environment in IBM Cirrus (Redhat OpenShift under the covers).
If they are not familiar with IBM Cirrus, that can be taught pretty quickly as long as they have the basic knowledge concepts of either Redhat OpenShift or Kubernetes.
Some experience working with version control systems (Example: Git, GitHub)
Some familiarity of web accessibility guidelines and testing
Some familiarity of web performance optimization
Some familiarity of developing for search engine optimization
Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and with members of a dedicated team

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
