FMS Engineer

An FMS Engineer (Facilities Management Systems Engineer) is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of software and systems that manage and optimize building facilities. This includes overseeing various building systems like HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security, ensuring efficient operation, and integrating new technologies. System Management:Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, networks, and operating systems related to facility management systems.
Network Management:Setting up and managing routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure secure and efficient network connectivity for FMS.
Security:Implementing and maintaining security measures like antivirus software, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
Data Management:Managing user access controls, performing data backups, and ensuring data availability and recovery.
Software Deployment & Integration:Supporting the installation, upgrades, and integration of third-party software within the FMS.
Troubleshooting:Providing L1/L2 level support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues, both onsite and remotely.
Cloud Management:Assisting with the management of virtual machines, cloud storage, and cloud security configurations related to the FMS.
Project Assistance:Supporting IT projects related to the FMS and coordinating with internal stakeholders and vendors.
Vendor Liaison:Evaluating IT procurement options and liaising with vendors for purchases and service renewals.
Documentation:Maintaining detailed logs of activities, issue resolutions, and standard operating procedures.
Collaboration:Working with facility managers and other stakeholders to understand their needs and tailor the FMS to specific requirements.
Optimization:Identifying opportunities to optimize the performance of the FMS and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
