Description:

BH Staff Nurse is responsible for the nursing care of patients as team leader, as well as the interpretation and implementation of physician-directed care. Ensures the needs of patients are meet. Consults with family members and other members of the healthcare team. May assume charge nurse duties when adequately prepared.

Reports to: Behavioral Health Director

Qualifications:

Minimum Education
Required Education:
â–¡ High school diploma or equivalent â–¡ Preferred â–¡ Required
â–¡ Two years of college â–¡ Preferred â–¡ Required
X Associate's degree â–¡ Preferred X Required
Bachelor's degree â–¡ Preferred â–¡ Required
Master's degree â–¡ Preferred Required
â–¡ Doctoral degree â–¡ Preferred â–¡ Required
Other: Minimum 3 years in experience providing care in mental health and/or substance abuse. Supervisory experience required.

Required License/Certifications:
Valid NC RN License
BLS required, or obtained within first week of hire
Handle with Care completed within 90 days of hire
