Liberty Village Animal Hospital is a progressive and privately owned clinic in the downtown core of Toronto. Our hospital provides top notch care to clients and their pets, and our doctors all have backgrounds in general and emergency medicine. We are currently looking for a skilled Receptionist with Animal Care Attendant (ACA) experience, to join our team on a full time basis, no weekends or holidays. This is a hybrid role. This new team member would be primarily involved with reception duties, client care, assisting both veterinarians and technicians, procedure preparation, and would partake in cleaning/maintenance of the hospital (along with the other team members).

As a receptionist and the first point of client contact, it is important that you ensure a positive client experience while maintaining records, an organized welcoming front desk and efficient workflow. Tasks include but are not limited to: greeting clients; answering phone calls; scheduling appointments; maintaining accuracy of patient files; weighing patients upon arrival; processing payments and providing invoices, receipts and estimates; responding to client emails; tracking vaccine status and appointment reminders.

The ACA component entails assisting RVTs and doctors with safe animal restraint, animal husbandry, assisting with patient admissions and discharges, procedural preparation and cleanup, surgical instrument cleaning and sterilization, client education and some inventory tasks.

This role is vital in delivering compassionate, efficient care to both clients and their pets. We are looking for a team member that is punctual, very organized and is comfortable multitasking in a fast paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanor. Qualities and skills we are looking for in a candidate:

Experience working in an animal hospital
Willingness to learn new skills
A team player
Very comfortable with client communication using a variety of platforms
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Organized and efficient, and pays close attention to detail
Competent at handling money and monetary transactions
Good animal handling skills
Punctual
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Comfortable using ladders and step stools
Ability to lift moderate amounts of weight

Compensation:

Above average compensation. Will be determined based on experience and skills
