We’re looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our vibrant team and help keep our financial engine running smoothly.

About the role

Reporting to our Management Accountant, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our financial operations are accurate, compliant, and insightful. From preparing month-end financials to managing payroll, you’ll support critical accounting processes that help PictureWealth grow.

What you’ll do

– Assist in preparing monthly P&L and balance sheet statements

– Perform reconciliations and accurate journal entries

– Conduct revenue reporting and reviews, keeping us aligned with business activity

– Process a small volume of Accounts Receivable and review AP coding and GST treatment

– Maintain accurate accounting supplier records

– Manage and process weekly and monthly payroll, ensuring compliance

– Validate our asset register for correct tracking and depreciation

– Support audits by preparing required documentation

– Carry out data validation and reconciliation to keep our systems sharp

– Tackle ad hoc accounting and admin tasks to keep the wheels turning

What we’re looking for

You’re detail-obsessed, proactive, and ready to grow with a fast-paced team. Ideally, you’ll bring:

– A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar

– 2+ years’ experience in accounting roles, covering:

– AP, AR and payroll

– Month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations

– Proficiency in Excel, plus familiarity with Xero or MYOB

– Comfort working with data and drawing out insights

– A knack for working independently and managing competing priorities

– Bonus points if you’ve worked in financial planning, wealth management, or data analytics—but it’s not essential.
