The Opportunity
As the Financial Accountant in the City of Perth, you will be a detail-driven and forward-thinking professional to take the lead in maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of the City’s financial records and systems. In this key role, you'll ensure accurate, compliant financial data and reporting, drive system improvements, and lead audit coordination—strengthening transparency and enhancing financial performance.

Reporting to the Financial Accounting Lead within our Finance team, your responsibilities would primarily include:
Financial accounting and reporting;
Oversee fixed asset accounting;
Audit coordination;
Financial systems administration and maintenance; and
Business support and continuous improvement.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
Sound knowledge of accounting principles, including month-end and year-end processes;
Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and financial legislation;
Good knowledge of non-current asset accounting, including depreciation, revaluation and disposals; and
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; and
Membership of a recognised professional accounting body (e.g. CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand).
