Position Overview

We are currently looking to fill casual positions for Housekeeping Aides at New Vista Society located in Burnaby, BC.

Detailed Overview:

Reporting to the Manager and supervisor of Support Services the ideal candidate will perform a variety of light housekeeping duties.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine cleaning and maintain assigned areas, including resident rooms, bathrooms, serveries, and common areas
Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors
Perform daily cleaning and disinfecting of all high contact surfaces such as equipment, toilets, sinks, and furniture.
Emptying trash and recycling bins
Perform discharge cleaning and disinfecting on resident rooms
Transports or moves items such as furniture
Restocking supplies such as toiletries and cleaning products
Reporting any maintenance issues or damages to the supervisor
Adhering to all health and safety guidelines
Performs other related duties as assigned
Skills:

Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks
Time management skills to ensure efficient completion of tasks within designated timeframes
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members
Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if required
Ability to deal with other effectively
Ability to operate related equipment
Qualifications:

Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Experience in a Care Facility/Acute Care Setting preferred
Note: Prior experience as a housekeeper or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.

Job Type: Casual 07:00-15:00/14:30-21:30
