About the Role:


The Divisional Management Accountant is a senior member of the Finance Branch and contributes to the leadership and engagement of the organisation by delivering financial and business solutions. The role provides high quality financial and budgetary analysis and advisory services to internal clients that will result in efficient and effective financial performance of business units. The role supervises and reviews the work of others in the delivery of key role outcomes.

Budget performance outcomes are improved through the provision of accurate, timely and risk focused (risk analysis) strategic financial advice to Executives and Senior Managers.
Reliable, timely and fairly presented financial reports (and statements where appropriate), that articulate risks to budget performance and identify opportunities, are prepared and presented to guide decision making.
High quality relationships with key clients are built and maintained through active engagement.
Business improvement and process standardisation are sought at every opportunity.
Quality timely advice is provided in relation to accounting treatments, methodologies and controls to facilitate compliance and education in relation to departmental financial policies and procedures.
Staff are engaged and empowered to deliver on individual and team outcomes through effective management, clear leadership and performance management, and a culture of team work, business partnering, and service excellence is actively fostered.

Contract:
Contract for 18 months

Essential Qualifications:
An appropriate tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business is desirable.

Special Conditions:


May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
May be required to undertake intrastate travel and work outside of the normal hours of work.
This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department requiring you to obtain an NPC.Remuneration:
ASO6 $98,478 min - $104,165 max p.a
