We have an exciting opportunity within our Finance Business Partnering TWSD team for a Strategic Finance Principal Lead, a leadership role reporting to the Head of Finance Business Partnering Te Whakatairanga Service Delivery (TWSD).

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and results orientated, with a passion for innovation. As a senior financial advisor for the business groups across TWSD, we are looking for a high achiever and team player who can encourage innovation and fresh thinking.


You will lead and promote financial reporting and transparency within the TWSD area and provide information, metrics and insight, together with education and understanding, to facilitate improved decision making within the business.


You will also have a relationship and be a coordination point between the business, other parts of the organisation such as Policy, and the overall Corporate and Digital Shared Services.

Nga pukenga me nga wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required
Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally within the public sector
Understanding of the Public Finance Act and experienced in Appropriation management
Strong financial management experience
Experience in large-scale (multi-million dollar) Programmes and projects, including business case experience
Experience in leading successful change initiatives
Strong communication skills both written and oral
Have a CAANZ Chartered Accountant qualification (or equivalent)
Be a business or management graduate with considerable experience in Public sector senior finance and leadership roles
Have the right to live and work in New Zealand
