About Us

Club Demonstration Services (CDS) is the preferred in-house event marketing provider for Costco, delivering best-in-class person-to-person marketing services that drive sales and customer engagement, and we are seeking a dedicated Regional Operations Manager – Australia & New Zealand to join our team at our Sydney HQ.

With over 30 years of international growth, CDS operates across countries including the United States, Canada, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Sweden, France, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand.

The Role

The Regional Operations Manager, manages, trains, coaches, and directs a team of

Event Managers, who in turn manage a large team of supervisors and Sales

Advisors who are responsible for supporting and executing all Costco Vendor Events, CDS projects and initiatives. Maintaining Operational Excellence to ensure all KPIs are met, collaborates with and supports Sales and Account Managers, field personnel at all levels and all business support units.

Key Responsibilities

Regularly travel to markets for purpose of but not limited to; Event Manager Development, warehouse audits and performance reviews.
Oversee and provide direction for recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training associates.
Overall performance management of Event Managers providing direction, guidance, and support where necessary.
Project Scheduling / Coordination / Management / Maintenance.
Achieve business execution and event/project compliance objectives by prioritizing and organizing multiple event/project priorities with local managers and Event Specialists.
Accomplish specific client and division goals and objectives through adequate staffing and on-date execution according to specific event manual direction and following food safety guidelines as appropriate.
Achieve overall execution objectives by building strong, frequent, and consistent interactions with Costco Operations at the warehouse level.
Observe Event Managers in field and in daily job duties
Develop personalized development plans for each category of associate, successors, contributors, take actions, top/bottom performers specific to each individual needs
Administration / Reporting
Regular review and analysis of New Event System (NES) reports providing plan of actions based on results
Budget / Expense Control, Control expense / supply, travel etc.
Ensure labour hours are within budget
Travel and Driving is an essential duty and function of this job
Travel up to 70%
Skills & Experience

Education Level: Business (or related field) degree preferred or 5+ years sales and operations management experience in grocery, food service or related setting.
5+ years of supervisory experience
Strong initiative, self-directed and the ability to work independently.
Strong understanding and experience managing large remote sales teams.
Ability to work though others with strong delegation skills.
Strong organisational and follow up skills.
Mathematical and analytical ability.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong understanding of retail reporting systems.
Intermediate to advanced PC skills; this includes a good understanding of spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software.
