Role Overview:
The role involves a variety of tax-related responsibilities, including the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns, consolidation of federal tax returns, and assistance with quarterly estimated tax payments. The candidate will be involved in the tax return information gathering process, interacting with finance department and business unit personnel. Additionally, the role requires the preparation and assistance with US GAAP current and deferred tax provisions and related analysis for asset management entities. The candidate will also assist in gathering information necessary to respond to IRS IDRs, perform basic tax research and analysis, and participate in special projects.
What You'll Do:
Review/prepare federal and state tax returns and related workpapers. Assist with consolidation of the federal tax return.
Assist with quarterly estimated tax payments.
Assist /perform in the tax return information gathering process, including interaction with finance department and business unit personnel.
Prepare/assist US GAAP current and deferred tax provisions and related analysis for asset management entities.
Assist in gathering information necessary to respond to IRS IDRs, as needed. Perform basic tax research and analysis.
Assist with special projects.
What You'll Bring:
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required, Master's Degree preferred (MS or MBA)
3-5 years of experience in tax accounting for insurance companies or tax compliance for both life and non-life insurance companies
Strong Excel and other tax technology skills
Knowledge of Corptax is a plus
Intermediate knowledge of tax accounting under ASC 740 and basic federal and state tax compliance skills.
