SteelSource is a nimble secondary steel provider with ~$10M in annual sales and operations spanning the U.S. and Mexico. We operate across three entities: our U.S. parent (SteelSource International), a North American distribution arm (SSNA), and our Mexico-based division (Laminasa). We specialize in spotting and acquiring high-value inventory quickly—and finance is the engine that makes it possible. We’re seeking a seasoned Fractional Controller to take control of our financial systems, bring structure to our reporting, and help guide strategic growth.

What You’ll Own

End-to-end financial oversight: monthly closes, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
Hands-on improvement of Odoo ERP workflows and accounting modules
Inventory and cost-of-goods analysis across supply chain operations
Management of cross-border financials (U.S. and Mexico), including FX reconciliation
Collaboration with local Mexico-based accounting teams and SteelSource leadership
Design and delivery of reports that support tactical and strategic business decisions
Contribution to pricing strategy, margin analysis, and operational efficiency
Who You Are

A hands-on Controller or Finance Leader with 7+ experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or metals
Professionally fluent in Spanish and English—you can speak directly with our Mexico team and understand the nuance
Comfortable working with Odoo (strongly preferred) or similar ERPs (NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics)
Able to work independently, set priorities, and bring clarity to chaos
Based in or willing to travel periodically to the NYC metro area for in-person strategy sessions
Bonus if You Have

Experience with U.S./Mexico taxes or coordination with external tax partners
Strength in creating custom reports and dashboards for inventory, margin, or cash forecasting
A track record of supporting sales strategy with financial insights and scenario modeling
Previous work with international or dual-entity organizations
Compensation

Compensation is commensurate with experience and aligned with the scope and structure of the role.
This is a fractional engagement, with flexibility around hours and monthly structure based on mutual fit.
Open to Retainer or Hourly.
