Tourism Development and Marketing Coordinator

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

Leads the implementation and evolution of the Ten-Year Destination and Leadership Management Plan.
Fosters tourism-related economic development through business and community engagement, partnership development, and product/experience growth.
Oversees the tourism brand, ensuring alignment with the Town’s tourism vision and core values.
Provides strategic direction for tourism marketing initiatives, guiding the Content Creator and Tourism Administrator in the development and execution of campaigns, social media, and storytelling strategies.
Leads initiatives that enhance the visitor experience, including signage, information services, itineraries, event alignment, and interpretive tools.
Identifies, pursues, and administers grant opportunities that support tourism development and marketing.
Manage tourism-related budgets, procurement processes, and reporting requirements.
8. Supports the development of tourism programming and events that align with brand objectives and economic goals.
9. Promotes and supports Brand Guidelines and Social Media Policy.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Diploma or Degree in Business, Culture, Recreation, Tourism or a combination of experience and education or a related field would be an asset
Minimum 3 years of experience in tourism development, destination marketing, or community economic development
Experience working in a municipal or public sector setting is an asset
Knowledge of rural tourism, visitor management, and destination sustainability practices is preferred
A valid Class 5 driver’s license
RCMP Based Criminal Record Check as deemed acceptable by The Town
