Staff Accountant

The Independent Film & Television Alliance, the trade association for independent motion picture distribution and production companies and producer of the American Film Market (AFM®), is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team.

The position will report to the Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Applicants must currently reside in the Los Angeles Area. In Office work is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Position provides support to the Accounting Department and general administrative/accounting support to the Vice President & CFO including:

Create Service Orders and Invoices
Apply cash receipts
Assists with preparation of various financial reports and journal entries
Assist with accounts receivable and management of outstanding invoices
Maintains various Excel schedules including: membership listings and graphs, agreement listings, subscriptions tracking GL Accounts and multiple payment tracking schedules
Maintain Corporate & Accounts Payables files
Copying, filing and scanning
Annual trade show revenue and customer account reconciliations
Assists with ad-hoc projects
Qualifications:

2-4 years’ experience
BA/BS Degree in Finance/Accounting
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Intermediate/Advanced), Word (Intermediate/Advanced), e-mail and Internet savvy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with members/vendors and company personnel at all levels
Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle multiple assignments & shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently in a high-volume environment
A self-motivated individual with energy, integrity and a positive attitude
Must be good at and enjoy working with numbers
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar software is a plus
