Job Overview

Healthy, safe, efficient, and cost-effective catering, in accordance with the Company's procedures, relevant legislation, and the Company's Management System.
Qualifications/Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ship’s Cook Certificate of Competency
Proven track record in relevant offshore experience within the marine sector; recent offshore standby experience on a PSV or AHTS vessel is strongly preferred.
MED in Basic Safety Training
Must pass Physical (Marine Medical with no restrictions, Drug Screen and Background Check).
Marine Advanced First Aid
H2S Alive
WHMIS 2015
Valid Canadian Passport
Responsibilities

Ensure the Master, the Shipboard Management Team and other functions on board are well informed so that they can coordinate and control activities thereby maximizing safety, quality and environmental protection.
Shall report to the Shipboard Management such defects, non-conformances and other matters which could present a risk to health and safety, pollution and quality of work.
To control purchase of provisions and its treatment.
To instruct and supervise catering personnel in health, safety, environmental protection.
Orientation.
Health and safety.
Good housekeeping.
Environmental protection.
Proper use of equipment.
Work practices.
Propose to the Master necessary training requirements concerning catering personnel.
To control all areas of the vessel belonging to his field of responsibility are kept clean and tidy, and in good working condition.
In the event alarm bells rings the chief steward shall carry out the duties as listed on the vessel Muster plans.
