Full job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative recipe writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a knowledge and passion for cooking (mandatory) and the ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively. As a recipe writer, you will be responsible for optimizing and rewriting our recipe posts in a manner that fits with our standard operating procedures and that engages our audience and aligns with our brand voice.

You will have a passion and knowledge for cooking and be able to spot mistakes and use your experience to tweak and help write content that educates and informs our readers who are wanting to make our recipes for themselves. You will have the ability to write for the reader and not just for the sake of writing.

Note: Usage of AI is allowed for research purposes only and all writing must pass all AI produced content checks. In other words, we and our advertising agency will be scanning content to ensure it is not written using AI and if any content does not pass these checks, it will be considered unusable.

This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent research skills, and the ability to work independently.

Duties

Create and reformat our existing recipe posts according to our requirements and in a manner that makes it easy for our readers to follow along and cook using them.
Proofread and edit content to maintain high standards of quality and clarity.
Adapt writing style to suit our brand voice while maintaining brand consistency.
Skills

Strong proofreading skills with an eye for detail to ensure error-free content.
Proficient in research techniques to gather information from credible sources effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate ideas clearly.
Experience in copy editing to refine content for clarity, coherence, and engagement that suits our audience and brand requirements.
Familiarity with WordPress is helpful but not required. Must be willing to learn to use this tool as writing will be done within the platform.
Ability to write engagingly while adhering to deadlines and project requirements.

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
