Position Description:
At a Glance
Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join the Lighting Sector Focal Point Accounting and finance Team in Chicago, IL. This person will work on month end journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaids, intercompany, and other accounting support functions. This position reports to our Sr. Director of Finance.
What Will You Do?
Month-End Procedures:
Prepare month end journal entries in accordance with IFRS standards.
Performs monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet account activity by the 10th business day.
Performs other account analysis as directed by Controller.
Fixed Assets:
Maintain and reconcile Fixed Assets listing and record monthly depreciation.
Enter payables associated with capital expenditures.
Perform maintenance on fixed assets quarterly for assets disposed of, or no longer used, and write-off accordingly.
Conduct annual Fixed Assets physical inventory in accordance with company policy.
Internal Control:
Support Controller with annual internal control self-assessments.
Coordinate remediation of key findings with control owners and provide monthly progress updates.
Document changes to key accounting processes .
Other:
Daily release of custom order lines.
Weekly – reconciliation and coding of freight vendor invoices.
Weekly – reconciliation of inventory adjustments to approval forms.
Perform backup functions to other team members and Controller as required.
Qualifications:
Required Skills
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Accounting (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
3-5 years’ experience in a similar position, using leading-edge business practices and organizational development techniques within a manufacturing / industrial operation.
Proficiency in software applications (MS Office) (JD Edwards experience is a plus).
Ability to communicate with other departments and management in both verbal and written form.
Ability to manage, prioritize and balance multiple tasks.

Salary Range:
$85,000 - $100,000 starting base plus bonus
