Job Description
Job description
Hamilton, Ontario | Aug 2026 – Apr 2026 | 15-20 hrs/week | $20–$25/hr based on experience
Top Shelf Media is on the lookout for a freelance-based sports videographer/editor to join our team from August through April on a freelance basis with the potential to become full-time. If you live and breathe sports, love creating dynamic content, and are looking to build your portfolio while working with some of the top teams in Southern Ontario — this is your shot.
About the Role:
• Capture live-action highlights of hockey games, community events, awards nights, and more.
• Edit engaging, fast-paced sports content designed for social media — with next-day turnarounds (2–4 hours of editing per shoot).
• Most shoots are 2–4 hours long along with 2-4 hours editing and we’ll keep you busy with 15-20 hours per week.
• Travel is occasionally required outside of Hamilton — mileage/travel is compensated.
• You’ll be part of a growing team creating media days, graphics, marketing content, and next-level video that gets results.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience shooting and editing sports content for social.
• Strong editing skills (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or equivalent) with creative transitions and a feel for storytelling.
• A portfolio that shows clean cuts, exciting pacing, and a knack for capturing key moments.
• Must own a vehicle and be based in or near Hamilton, ON.
• Gear can be provided, but you may be asked to use your own depending on the shoot.
• A demo reel that can show your content / editing style.
Ideal For:
• Students, freelancers, and emerging creatives looking to gain hands-on experience and build a portfolio in sports media.
