Full job description
As the Junior Test Engineer you will be responsible for testing Invenco by GVR’s product quality for Outdoor Payment terminals, specifically firmware, middleware and applications development. Includes the development of software applications to test embedded firmware and software by planning and executing test scripts/harnesses and monitoring the results to ensure they reach both company and agreed industry approval standards with a focus on automation.

Here are some of the key responsibilities of the role.

Software Testing & Release

Test environment setup
Maintenance of test rig and test setup
Test scope planning
Analysis, design and management of test cases
Execution- Automation tests , semi-automated and manual tests
Product Testing

Perform product test activities as mentioned above required for delivery/release
Software upgrade/downgrade testing , Validation of the software feature additions
Involvement in production validation of the firmware
Perform customer specific customized testing and document them wherever necessary
Involvement in compliance testing as needed.
Quality Assurance

Co-ordination with Test team (Feature testers) and Product Development team to ensure delivery of releases within time and quality standards
Quality assurance process improvement
Undertake training where appropriate
Participation in agile ceremonies.
RCA of escaped defects, understand and implement test scenarios to uncover them in early stage of test cycle.
Software Documentation

Produce appropriate test plans, work instructions, reports and release documentation.
Verify delivered software documentation – user guides, release notes, specifications etc.

You’ll have up to 3 years of experience in Java or C/C++ and an understanding of SDLC and Software Test lifecycle. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are also important.

Other Essential Skills:

Relevant Tertiary qualification: Computer Science Engineering or Information systems or similar fields
Experience in designing and executing automated tests
Ability to implement automated tests as required, conduct regression testing in accordance with established performance benchmarks
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI to automate testing processes and
ensure faster releases.
