AstraZeneca, a global leader in biopharmaceuticals, is seeking a meticulous Medical Lab Technician to join our Cambridge R&D team. You'll play a vital role in supporting our drug discovery and development programs by conducting precise laboratory tests and analyses that contribute to life-changing medical breakthroughs.Key Responsibilities
• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests following strict protocols
• Prepare and process biological samples with precision
• Operate and maintain advanced laboratory equipment (HPLC, PCR, flow cytometers)
• Accurately record and analyse experimental data
• Ensure compliance with GLP and quality control standards
• Maintain laboratory inventory and order supplies
• Collaborate with research scientists on experimental design
Qualifications & Requirements : Medical lab technician jobs
Essential:
• HNC/HND or B.Sc. in Biomedical Science/Life Sciences
• 1+ years' hands-on lab experience in clinical or research settings
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques
• Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols
Preferred:
• IBMS registration or working toward certification
• Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech environment
• Knowledge of LIMS systems
Salary & Benefits
• £28,000 - £35,000 per annum (experience-dependent)
• Annual performance bonus (up to 10%)
