We are seeking a full:time Biology Technician to support a thriving Science department starting September 2026. The role is based in a well:regarded and high:achieving secondary school in Sheffield, known for its outstanding provision of A:Level and GCSE science. Youll work closely with teachers and students to ensure the smooth and safe running of the Biology labs, creating an environment where practical science comes to life.

Essential Requirements
• Experience in a school lab or similar science:based environment is preferred
• Strong understanding of health and safety protocols in laboratories
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness )
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities
• Prepare and set up equipment and materials for biology practicals
• Clean and store equipment after use
• Maintain safe working conditions in the lab
• Dispose of hazardous materials in line with regulations
• Assist in classroom demonstrations
• Assist in keeping student work:spaces clean and safe
• Prepare lesson:specific displays or models
• Attend department and training meetings as required
• Support teachers during practical sessions when necessary
• Maintain records of risk assessments and experiments
