Summary of Duties

The Registered Nurse provides holistic, high quality and safe care to patients prescribed by the physician and in compliance with the College of Nurses of Ontario. The Registered Nurse provides care to patients with complex care needs within in a broad range of nursing/patient care services for the OR & Related Services ambulatory clinics. The nurse will Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in compliance within the scope of practice. Receives patients into unit, obtains and documents nursing assessment, vital signs, health and social history as applicable. The nurse is responsible for providing direct care, assisting with procedures and post procedure monitoring for patient undergoing conscious sedation; Cystoscopic and Urodynamic procedures, assisting with Bladder Installation and performing catherizations in accordance with standards of the College of Nurses, the organization and Person Centred Care philosophy; provides education/counseling, and documents information according to appropriate standards. As a member of the team, the successful candidate should be willing to rotate to all clinics within the OR and Related Services

Qualifications/Skills
• Current CNO Ontario Registration
• Current BCLS certificate
• ACLS preferred
• B.Sc.N. preferred
• Experience and knowledge regarding conscious sedation required
• Advanced gastroenterology and procedural knowledge preferred
• knowledge with vascular access insertion and device selection required
• Minimum 2 years endoscopy experience and post anaesthetic nursing experience preferred
• Completion of post-graduate O.R. certificate and current or recent, related O.R. experience preferred
• Expertise in Urology preferred
• Expertise in the performance of urological operative techniques
• Experience in Urodynamics preferred
• Recent Surgical Oncology nursing experience preferred
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and ability to prioritize in a stressful environment required
• Competent computer skills required
• Excellent time management and organization skills
• Proven ability to promote Person Centered Care in a clinic environment Expertise in the performance of gynecological operative techniques
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, including students
• Demonstrated interest in personal professional development
• Excellent communication, facilitation, organizational and teaching skills
• Demonstrated commitment to Person Centred Care approach and principles
• Demonstrated experience in conflict management
