Job Title: Housekeeping Team Leader

Location: Richmond VIC Melbourne

Purpose:

Key Responsibilities:

Room Cleaning: Perform high-standard cleaning of guest rooms in line with hotel cleanliness and presentation standards.
Morning Staff Allocation: Support the supervisor in assigning daily room allocations and communicating priorities to the team.
Room Checking: Conduct quality checks on cleaned rooms to ensure they meet brand and guest expectations before handover.
Training New Staff: Assist with onboarding and on-the-job training for new room attendants, demonstrating correct cleaning procedures and safety practices.
Closing of the Day: Help ensure task completion at the end of each shift, report daily performance and room status to the manager.
Team Support: Act as a go-to person for attendants during the shift, answering questions and helping resolve basic issues.
Supervisor Backup: Step in when the supervisor is unavailable to keep daily operations running smoothly.
Guest Interaction: Respond politely and promptly to guest requests or concerns related to housekeeping services.
Compliance & Safety: Follow all workplace health and safety procedures related to cleaning operations and equipment use.
Skills and Experience:

Hotel Background: At least 1–2 years of hands-on housekeeping experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel. Previous experience in a team leader or senior room attendant role is highly regarded.
Communication Skills: Able to clearly communicate with both staff and management; friendly and professional with guests.
Leadership Potential: Comfortable taking initiative and guiding a small team; interested in growing into a supervisor or management role.
Attention to Detail: Strong focus on cleanliness, room presentation, and following hotel standards.
Physical Capability: Fit for manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Team-Oriented: Works well in a fast-paced team environment, supports others, and leads by example.
Availability: Must be available at least 5 days per week.
