Job Description:

We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Journeyman Power Line Technician to support our expanding Calgary operations on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the oversight and installation, maintenance, and repair of power lines and related infrastructure. You will champion the entire scope for new aerial and underground cable installations. It will be through your contributions and leadership on-site every day that will help ensure that our customers receive safe and consistent electricity while fostering a culture of safety and teamwork amongst your team here at North Star.

What you will do:

Install, maintain, and repair power distribution systems Operate radial arm diggers and Hot line buckets Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement appropriate solutions Collaborate with team members to achieve project objectives Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used Install and terminate padmount transformers and switch gear Install pullboxes and electrical distribution / supply cabling Install street lighting systems Work with utility owners (Enmax & Fortis) as needed to facilitate inspections and approvals Splice, solder, and insulate conductors and related wiring to connect power distribution

networks Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

What you bring:

Red Seal Powerline Certificate Rubber glove training verification (an asset)

Experience with Enmax and Fortis power distribution networks Live line experience (an asset)

Valid Class 3 driver’s license with Air Brakes (an asset)

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Strong self-motivation, positive attitude, and good work ethic

Job Type: Seasonal

Pay: From $50.00 per hour
