7.5 Tonne Delivery Driver

Job description
Duties & Responsibilities
• Distribute products promptly to our customers. You will represent our company in a professional and cost-effective manner to increase our profitability and customer satisfaction. Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes Check order picking and load vehicles for next day deliveries.
• Delivering goods to customers as per load plan, planned routes and delivery notes, in a timely manner.
• Identify and record any discrepancies on the Oriental Food Express copy of the delivery note as per company policy.
• Ensure paperwork is completed with customers signatures, any discrepancies, or payments recorded as per company policy.
• Ensure vehicle is always secured. Inspects delivery vehicles and ensures the safety and security of the loading and unloading process.
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Report any accidents or defects of vans immediately.
• Carry our vehicle checks and report any vehicle mechanical/ refrigeration issues or incidents to the logistics manager immediately.
• Ensure vehicle is kept clean and tidy and washed as per cleaning schedule.
• Drive vehicle in a safe manner, ensuring legal requirements are adhered to at all times.
• Interact with customers and other road users in a courteous and professional manner to reflect well on the company and yourself, and not bring the company into disrepute.
• Adhere to policies and procedures set out in the driver’s handbook. Completing any reasonable request made by a member of management.

Job Requirements
• Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Aged over 25 for insurance purposes.
• Flexible hours, including some Saturday work as required. Adaptable to situations.
• Local transfers to Cold Move warehouse and also long-distance driving as we deliver to areas including South Coast/ London
• Driving 7.5 tonne lorry.
• Manual Handling.
• C1 License.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: £13.50-£14.00 per hour

Experience:
• Delivery driver: 1 year (preferred)
• 7.5 tonne Lorry driving: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:
• Driving Licence with C1 catagory (required)
