Sous Chef - Wilderness Resort

Job description
Arctic Kingdom and Blachford Lake Lodge are seeking a Sous Chef to work at our wilderness resort (Blachford Lodge) outside of Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories. This is NOT a fly in/out position, it is for an entire season. Term is from April 14 - June 17, and would be cooking for the break up season caretaking staff.

As our Sous Chef you must:
• Execute service for 3 meals/day under our Head Chef
• Cook breakfast and lunch
• Assist with food and meal prep
• Keep kitchen and pantry clean and organized
• Cater to almost all dietary requests of guests
• Feed both staff and guests
• Bake breads, buns, etc. daily
• Cook meals from scratch
• Do dishes (everyone does dishes!)

Days are long, but years are short. Working in this incredible environment provides an unparalleled experience to live and work in the pristine Canadian north wilderness. Days can be 9-12 hours, up to 6 days a week, depending on guest volumes and needs.

Health & Medical
• Be in good physical condition and capable of lifting heavy loads.
• Have a healthy mental standing for isolation in remote locations for extended periods.
• Working long hours and being available for work extended periods in challenging conditions is common.

Required qualifications:
• Hold a valid food handler permit
• Have experience as a second chef
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada
