Full job description
We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to support our growing client base of UK startups and scaleups.

This is a hybrid, part-time role with flexibility over when and how you work. You'll split your week between home and office days in our Warwickshire office space. Ideal for someone who wants variety, autonomy and interesting work—without the full-time hours.

At AI Accounts, we’re not a traditional firm. We partner with ambitious early-stage companies, acting as their finance team. We run their finance operations, advise them on strategy, and provide clear, direct advice when they need it.

You’ll work closely with founders, so you’ll need to be commercially aware as well as technically strong.

Salary £35k–£42.5k FTE depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

Managing a portfolio of fast-growing businesses
Producing and reviewing monthly and quarterly management accounts with commentary
Producing and reviewing VAT returns
Producing Year-end accounts
Producing self assessment tax returns and CT600's
Manage and oversee the bookkeeping of junior team members
Manage the confirmation statements and companies house filings
Provide mentorship and guidance to the junior team.
Acting as a trusted point of contact for founders
Supporting our CFO with forecasts, board packs, and cashflow reports
You’ll need:

ACA or ACCA qualified (or QBE with strong practice background)
Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role in a UK practice.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, TaxCalc is preferred.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to mentor and develop junior staff members.
Strong communication skills for effective client interaction.
Comfortable managing your own workload and client communication
