Part-Time Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant (Court of Protection Team)

Location: Hybrid / Remote / Office-based (flexible across Sale or Manchester office)

Hours: 2–3 days per week

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Contract Type: Part-time, Permanent

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to support our busy and growing Court of Protection team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong financial acumen and excellent organisational skills to play a key role in a dynamic legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records for a portfolio of deputyship clients.
Prepare and balance annual Deputy reports, ensuring compliance with all relevant financial and legal standards.
Manage time effectively to meet strict reporting deadlines and internal schedules.
Communicate clearly and professionally with a large team of lawyers, supporting them with financial queries and updates.
Liaise confidently with the Office of the Public Guardian on compliance and reporting matters.
Develop a working understanding of Court of Protection rules, particularly around professional deputy costs and allowable expenses.

What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounts, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
Strong time management and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
A proactive and responsible approach to independent working.
Willingness to learn and adapt to the specific requirements of Court of Protection work.
Confidence in dealing with external bodies and regulatory authorities.
