Prep Cook & Kitchen Helper

Sunset Grill is Canada's leading breakfast and brunch restaurant chain and takes pride in serving food that is always freshly prepared. Our location at Major Mackenzie Drive West and Weston Road in Vaughan is looking for a hard-working, team-oriented Prep Cook to assist in the daily operations of the restaurant. The ideal candidate will have previous experience cooking in a kitchen and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Operate the kitchen line efficiently - including cooking all kind of egg preparations, sandwiches, wraps and other menu items
Ensure food quality and speed
Cut, chop, peel, prepare vegetables, fruits, eggs and meats as required
Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment
Wash and keep ready dishes, serving plates, glassware and silverware
Clean up kitchen area after and during food prep
Constantly maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen at all times
Diligently follow all food safety and hygiene standards
Ensure proper preparation of food items per standard recipes
Help in stocking up supplies during operational hours
Help in closing the kitchen - mop, sweep all areas and clean up for the next day.
Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old
Must be able to work weekends and holidays
Must be able to lift and shift heavy boxes (well within permissible lifting limits)
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
Benefits:

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 24 per week

Cooking: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:

Food Handler Certification (preferred)
