Assistant Accountant (6 month FTC)

Citadel Source is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our well-established client based in East Bristol. Initially this will be a 6-month contract role, with the possibility of extension or being made permanent. In order to be consider for this role you will be immediate available or available on a very short notice.

About you

You will either be AAT qualified or currently working towards achieving this qualification. The ideal candidate will possess solid experience in general ledger (GL) accounting, with a thorough understanding of accounting principles and procedures. In addition, you will demonstrate advanced proficiency in Excel, including the ability to use complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools to support financial reporting and decision-making.

The role

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting various accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, stock take procedures and posting journals.

As an Assistant Accountant, your role will include, but not be limited to:

Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial statements.
Conduct reconciliations of bank statements and other accounts as required.
Investigating and resolving any discrepancies
Reconciling stock levels and investigating variances
Support the wider finance team during month-end procedures
Processing supplier invoices and preparing payment runs and resolving supplier queries
Raising sales invoices and issuing statements to customers
Monitoring outstanding debts and following up on overdue payments

A salary level of £30,000 to £35,000
Fully Office Based (but there might be a possibility of hybrid working after training)
Parking on site
