What will you be doing?
We're seeking a talented individual to join our Private Client Tax team in Bristol, which is responsible for developing relationships and new business opportunities to provide a range of tax and other services to private client individuals.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding team where you will have overall responsibility and accountability for a portfolio of clients, backed by your outstanding technical expertise. You will be adept at leading and nurturing client relationships, with the goal of expanding business opportunities within your existing client base and beyond. You will be responsible for motivating and fostering growth among associate directors, senior managers, and other team members, ensuring top-notch client service while minimizing conduct risk. Additionally, you will contribute to the management of your department and/or office, as applicable.

As a Private Client Tax Director, your responsibilities will include among others
Client advice - Able to provide suitable strategic and technical advice and guidance to clients with regard to their personal tax affairs.
Client Liaison - Able to structure and lead client meetings ensuring that information given is up to date, clear and not misleading and meets the client's needs.
Grow the team - Promote and build the group's reputation internally and externally.
Quality control, Compliance and Risk Management - Ensure compliance with the group's internal procedures so as not to expose the group to unacceptable levels of risk.
Financial Management - Monitor and manage chargeable hours, utilisation, recoveries, WIP, billing and lock up for you and your team, ensuring where possible lock up is kept to a minimum and clients are billed regularly.
Staff Management & Development - In conjunction with your HoB, manage, counsel and develop your direct reports with a view to maximising their work potential (in terms of their skills, knowledge and experience, management style and client care).
Key Performance Indicators:
Work under your control and direction: it is expected that, unless contributing significantly to management or having a strong technical bias, a director should be responsible for a client portfolio of at least �500,000 per annum.
Chargeable hours: it is expected that, unless contributing significantly to management, a full time director should regularly record at least 900-1,000 chargeable hours per annum.
A director would be expected to have under recoveries of <10% per annum on scale rates set within the department.
A director would be expected to have overall lock-up below the relevant KPIs set for their business line.
A director would be expected to keep tight control of debtors and demonstrate a commercial approach in connection with outstanding fees.
