Our client is seeking a highly skilled Group Accountant to join a retail-focused accounting and finance team based in Maidenhead and Gravesend. This role requires expertise in financial reporting, consolidation, and compliance to drive accurate and efficient processes.

Description
• Prepare and consolidate group financial statements ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Oversee the monthly and annual reporting processes to provide accurate financial insights.
• Collaborate with divisional teams to ensure consistency in financial processes and reporting.
• Support in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to assist strategic decision-making.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across the group.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and liaise with external auditors.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency.
• Provide technical accounting support and advice to internal stakeholders.

Profile

A successful Group Accountant should have:
• A recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
• Proficiency in preparing and consolidating financial statements.
• Experience in the retail industry or a similar sector would be advantageous.
• A strong understanding of accounting standards and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with stakeholders and auditors.
