Company Overview
St James Centre is a charity based in Normanton, Derby, dedicated to managing community buildings and running impactful community projects. Our mission is to enhance the lives of individuals in our community through various initiatives and support services.
Summary
St James is a lively charity supporting individuals, families and the community to live life to the MAX! We are looking for a Finance Manager who can keep our money in order by undertaking book keeping and financial management duties.
You will need to have at least an AAT Level 4 qualification or a full or part qualified accountant ACCA/CIMA and a minimum of 3 years experience of managing finance in a medium sized Organisation. Excellent IT skills in Moneysoft, Sage, Excel and Word. Knowledge of the Voluntary Sector is helpful.
Responsibilities
Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Manage accounts payable and ensure timely processing of invoices.
Implement cost control measures to optimize financial performance.
Prepare financial statements and reports for stakeholders.
Develop financial plans that align with the charity's objectives.
Provide leadership and guidance to finance staff and volunteers.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and charity laws.
Requirements
Create and record monthly sale invoices to send to clients and customers and credit control
Process supplier invoices
Petty cash and credit card monitoring
Undertake payroll, expenses and pensions
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations,
Control cash flow and advise the CEO of any shortfalls
Prepare the annual financial budgets in conjunction with the Senior Management Team and CEO
Prepare a monthly accounts and reports comparing actual expenditure to budget for St James Centre and report any major variances to the CEO
Prepare detailed project monthly financial accounts.
Prepare a summary financial report for Board Members (approximately 6 times per year)
Liaise with the company auditors
