Full job description
Join us as a Governance Manager

If you’re someone who thrives on raising the bar; has a keen interest in Corporate Governance; and has an understanding of our Group structure, businesses and the key issues they face, then this role is ideal for you
You’ll be at the forefront of advising on Corporate Governance matters, ensuring that good corporate governance practice is embedded in the execution of our Group strategy
This is a chance to work as part of a professional and high-performing team, collaborating with colleagues across the pillar and the wider Corporate Governance function
This role is available as either a full time or part time (minimum 28 hours) opportunity
You’ll work from home some of the time, but you’ll also spend a significant amount of time working from the Edinburgh or London office
What you'll do
As a Governance Manager, we’ll look to you to provide coordinated, consistent and professional advice to the business on the Corporate Governance framework, including on the bank’s corporate governance policy and related mandatory procedures as well as external developments impacting our framework. You’ll collaborate to drive the embedding of corporate governance best practice across the business, identifying and acting on opportunities to improve corporate governance frameworks and processes.

You’ll support the maintenance and continued optimisation of the Group’s Subsidiary Governance framework, providing advice and support to subsidiary boards and company secretaries aligned to the Subsidiary Governance Principles.

In addition, you’ll:

Act as a trusted adviser on a range of corporate governance framework issues, supporting and advising senior stakeholders across the function and wider business
Help maintain an effective Corporate Governance policy for the bank, supporting effective embedding and understanding across the organisation through the provision of appropriate training, guidance and support to stakeholders
Provide confidential advice and support to senior stakeholders across a broad range of strategic, board, ExCo and Corporate Governance matters
Proactively analyse and advise on external Corporate Governance developments
