Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to support a mission-critical state-level financial systems project in Connecticut. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in SQL Server database administration, particularly in financial services environments.

Key Qualifications:
• 12 15 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• At least one recent project involving financial systems or financial transaction databases.
• Proven expertise in:
• SQL Server configuration and administration
• Database security and compliance (e.g., encryption, access control, auditing)
• Performance tuning and optimization
• High availability and disaster recovery
• Strong knowledge of managing large-scale, high-transaction-volume financial databases.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities:
• Administer, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and perform performance tuning and query optimization.
• Ensure database security, data integrity, and compliance with financial data regulations.
• Collaborate with development teams to refine schemas and tune queries.
• Implement and maintain backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery procedures.
• Automate regular maintenance processes and develop monitoring/reporting tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in real-time.
• Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.

Support release deployments and perform scheduled maintenance during off-hours.
