Job Description
LCF is a small franchise business based in Bolton and operating around Greater Manchester & Lancashire. We are a professional team of teachers and tutors, and our goal is to spread our passion for languages with the help of fluent speakers of French and Spanish like you!
Our work environment is fun, high energy and happy and we use our fun course, songs, games and stories to spread the love of language learning to primary-age children.
Le Club Francais & El Club Espanol provides fun language classes and clubs for children as a franchise of LCF Clubs Limited. LCF have been operating in the UK since 1985 and prioritise fun learning as a way of speeding up the acquisition process for children. In other words we make learning = fun! Our stimulating courses allow children to learn with a variety of fun songs, games, stories and interactive activities, and LCF also offers an in-school programme to provide tuition for children in the curriculum.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing Spanish-speaking Club leader for our FUN Club Español lunchtime clubs at schools in the Wigan area , including Standish & Crawford Village (nr Skelmersdale/Upholland)
There are also potential opportunities for French in Wiganat lunchtime too, please mention if you're interested in these during our communications or apply for them separately.
For lunchtime clubs, there are 2-3 clubs which I need a club leader for, and it will depend on experience and availability. The clubs are 30 minute sessions, between 12 and 1.15 roughly. There is great potential for more work if successful and dependent on experience and ability to travel.
Teachers should ideally have a car or own transport or live in Wigan/Skelmersdale area. Some schools may be within reach of public transport but not always.
The role is to start as soon as possible in Autumn term, ideally from September and you'll be taking over from an existing club leader.
Opportunities may also be available with more new clubs after school or at lunchtime in the surrounding areas if you are looking to expand the hours. However, it might suit someone who already has other work on a couple of days, or at weekend, that this job could fit around.
We require a suitable person who has some experience with younger children and/or teaching children in Primary School, or perhaps other school settings or similar.
You MUST:-
be fluent or near fluent in Spanish (Being fluent in French too is a bonus)
be available to work at the above specified times
be enthusiastic about working with children.
be living near the Wigan/East Lancashire area, or willing to travel on a long-term basis (ideally should have a car or willing to use public transport)
be able to commit to the long term position of club leader for this clubs
be willing to work as a self-employed tutor
Please be aware this is not a full-time position, only part-time. Please explain your availability on your application cover notes or CV.
You must be comfortable (and enthusiastic about) working with children from 4-11. It is preferred that the applicant has some teaching experience here, and it would be valuable to have experience working with children from 4-11 in a school or childcare setting.
Some training will be given, but to be successful, it is important that you have a good understanding of and fluency communicating in English. You will also receive access to LCF's teacher training on demand, as well as ongoing safeguarding training, the first of which must be completed before starting work.
