Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Maths Teacher to join our educational team at Foundations For Life school in Bootle. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high quality mathematics instruction to students, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting students in achieving their academic goals. This role requires a strong understanding of mathematical concepts, effective communication skills, and the ability to engage students with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities
You’ll be teaching Key Stages 3 and 4, including Entry Level and GCSE Maths, in an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school. Every day is a chance to change a young person’s life through patient, creative, and dedicated teaching.
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
Educate students on various mathematical concepts, ensuring comprehension and application of skills.
Utilise behaviour management techniques to maintain a productive classroom environment.
Provide tutoring and mentoring support to students who require additional assistance in mathematics.
Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional strategies and share best practices.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and methodologies.
Support special education students by adapting lessons and providing tailored resources as needed.
Engage in scientific research related to educational practices in mathematics when applicable.
Skills
Strong knowledge of mathematics curriculum and instructional strategies.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex concepts.
Proficient in behaviour management techniques to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
Experience in tutoring or mentoring students, particularly in mathematics-related subjects.
Understanding of special education needs and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Familiarity with biochemistry or laboratory work is advantageous but not essential.
A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for educating young minds.
Newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply. While experience working with special needs pupils is an advantage, it is not essential. What matters most is your passion and willingness to make a difference.
