Location: Remote from Europe



Our mission:

At Xata we’re on a mission to radically simplify the way developers work with data with our Postgres database platform.

We make managing database infrastructure easy giving developers all the functionality their application needs to evolve at scale.

What we’re building at Xata:

Modern applications are complex. We are building a Postgres Database Platform that augments PostgreSQL with the functionality modern applications need at scale.

In every feature we build, we optimise for developer experience that will ultimately reduce our customers time to market or dramatically simplify hard architectural problems at scale. Our application is highly intuitive and is great for data collaboration with the entire team.


In this role, you will:

Work closely with the other engineering teams to build services that are highly scalable and observable.
Set up infrastructure and configuration as code. We use Kubernetes, and Pulumi (using Go) and Terraform for infrastructure as code.
Implement automation tools and frameworks for automatic code deployment (CI/CD).
Set up and maintain observability and monitoring stack, as well as our deployment pipelines.
Be part of the on-call rotation. The on-call load is shared between the SRE and the backend team.
Share your experience at conferences or blog posts if interested.
You will have:

Hands-on cloud infrastructure experience on public cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
Good understanding of PostgreSQL.
Experience with Kubernetes, preferably using Kubernetes operators and running Postgres in Kubernetes.
Experience with infrastructure as code.
Hands-on experience coding, ideally in Python, Go or Typescript with a focus on clean, maintainable code.
Experience with observability tools and incident management.
