Job Description
Allevia GI Institute is a new partnership between Allevia Hospitals and a group of leading gastroenterologists. Our purpose: to deliver expert, comprehensive and streamlined care in the GI space. We are currently fitting out purpose-built, specialist outpatient clinic space and expanding our high quality GI endoscopy day theatres under one roof in Takapuna. With expanded capacity and a broader clinical offering, this initiative represents a bold and collaborative step forward for gastroenterology services in the North Shore community. Opening in October, this new specialised clinic will raranga (weave) generations of experience with a shared commitment to providing exceptional personalised manaaki (care) for every patient we see.
A career-enhancing opportunity is now open for an experienced and influential Business Manager to join the team to:
implement best practice clinical processes
oversee the day-to-day operations, including leadership, supervision and manaaki for staff
develop ambitious business development initiatives
recruit top tier specialists and other allied health professionals
raranga (weave together) a comprehensive, functional multidisciplinary team.
Reporting directly to a responsive and dynamic Board of Directors, and alongside established and effective nursing leadership and administrative services, our Business Manager will be at the heart of driving our strategic values and vision, elevating financial performance, taking care of our people and ensuring the highest standard of GI patient care.
About the role:
Key responsibilities include:
Optimisation & management of business processes to ensure efficiency, compliance and operational excellence
Oversight of clinical practice and operations in a busy GI endoscopy service and outpatient clinic setting
Develop & implement a strategic plan to attract new specialists and expand the clinic's referrer and provider networks
Human Resource management including recruitment, training & performance management of administrative & support staff
Oversee budgeting, cost efficiency, & financial performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Cultivate and maintain positive and effective working relationships with staff, key stakeholders, new and existing providers and suppliers
Operationalise our shared vison and values.
About you:
As an experienced business manager and proven relationship builder you will bring all the necessary skills, knowledge and professional networks required to ensure our specialised clinic delivers exceptional service and patient-centred care in line with strategic objectives and growth plans. To be successful in this role you will need:
A professional healthcare background ideally with a tertiary level qualification in clinical practice, healthcare administration, business, or a related field
At least 5 years' experience in medical practice management, preferably in a specialty clinic
Proven experience in marketing, business development, strategic planning
Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, profitability analysis and board reporting
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices
Experience in recruitment of clinical staff, ideally including specialists, physicians, nurses and allied health professionals
Proven people leadership experience & exceptional network and relationship building skills - whanaungātanga
A commitment to honouring and upholding Te Tiriti ō Waitangi in the healthcare setting.
