Cloud Database Administrator

The Digital and Technology team at a leading food company is seeking an experienced database administrator with a strong background in DevOps. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud databases, automation tools, and agile development methodologies.

Job Description:
This role involves providing technical leadership for migrating existing databases to public cloud platforms, developing and implementing automated workflows, and ensuring alignment with overall IT strategy. The successful candidate will also be responsible for administering and managing mission-critical database platforms, identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks, and designing highly available and scalable database solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• 9 years of hands-on experience with leading design, refactoring, or migration of databases in cloud infrastructures and services for at least one of Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google GCP;
• Experience with automating database migration processes;
• Experience maintaining and administering CI/CD tools such as Ansible, GitHub, and Artifactory in a cloud environment;
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement automated workflows;
• Experience working with infrastructure as code such as Terraform or equivalent;
• Proven ability to automate infrastructure provisioning and management;
• Experience with concepts, processes, and tools required for cloud adoption including cloud security, governance, and integration;
• Experience with automating security and compliance tasks;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Ability to work collaboratively across functional team boundaries;

Preferred Qualifications:
• Good understanding and hands-on experience of Linux OS and Windows Server 2012;
• Experience working with high availability, disaster recovery, backup strategies, and server tuning strategies including parameters, resources, contention, etc;
