Mitre 10 (New Zealand) Limited needs no introduction, as a proudly locally owned and operated business. You see us in almost every town in NZ through our MEGA, Mitre 10 and Hammer Hardware stores, we’re a big “Kiwi” brand and here’s your chance to join our Ponsonby store.

As we gear up for our busy season, we’re excited to offer three fantastic opportunities to join our Ponsonby store as a Retail Sales Team Member. If you’re passionate about customer service, love working in a fast-paced environment, and are available for the shifts below, we’d love to hear from you!

️ Available Roles:

1. Permanent Part-Time – Sunday & Monday – 8 hours per day
Perfect for someone looking to balance work with other commitments while still being part of a dynamic retail team.

2. Permanent Part-Time – Friday & Saturday – 8 hours per day
Great for a candidate with strong weekend availability who enjoy the energy of peak trading days and want to make a real impact during our busiest times.

Note: Additional hours may be available during peak trading periods.


3. Permanent Full-Time – 40 hours/week
Includes one weekend shift, with flexibility across weekdays to meet rostering needs. Great for someone ready to take on a full-time retail career.


Do you have?

DIY/Home improvement knowledge
Retail experience
Confidence in engaging and approaching customers
The ability and desire to work as part of a team
Sufficient strength and fitness for merchandising / service tasks
A positive, engaging personality focused on providing solutions for customers
A desire to learn, grow, and support your team in doing the same

A Day in the Life:

Engaging with customers to help them find products and solutions
Working with process’s, to ensure stock is accurate and accounted for
Performing light stepladder work to stow and merchandise stock
Assisting across the store as needed, in multiple departments
Carrying out general daily shop duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
Occasionally covering till service during breaks or high demand
Working a full-time 40-hour week, including one weekend day
Being an active part of a positive, dynamic, and engaging team culture
Demonstrating great timekeeping and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
