Job Description
Manga Hotels is a Canadian company involved in the acquisition, development and management of high-quality residences and hotels affiliated with prestigious brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt and Intercontinental Hotels Group. Manga Hotels started building hotels since 1998. It has built 18 projects and 7 more projects in the pipeline including low-, mid- and high-rise construction. The new renovated, dual branded Doubletree/Home2 Suites by Hilton Kingston is seeking a motivated and dynamic Catering Sales Manager with proven leadership skills, strong creativity and a “can do” work ethic.
· Responsible for the selling, planning and servicing of events varying in all venues and ensuring that all required information is received and communicated in a timely and effective manner.
· Actively seek out new business opportunity for all banquet and meeting spaces within the DoubleTree/Home2 Suites by Hilton Kingston and the Ambassador Event Center
· Solicit and confirm event related information with client to fulfill contractual timelines and commitments
· Administrative support assistance to the Director of Sales & Marketing, including general administration, banquet event orders and financial tracking
· Maintains all files in hard copy and in Delphi
· Organize / disseminate information in a professional and timely manner to all departments through various communication channels: email, directives, event orders, resumes and internal planning meetings
· Plan creative experiences and collaborate with the Executive Chef to curate custom menus
· Participates in on-site visits when necessary to promote guest room and meeting room sales.
· Lobby duty and guest reception shifts as assigned
· Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
· Follows company policies and procedures.
· Other opportunities & tasks as assigned.
· Create floor plans that optimize space and ensure a memorable guest experience
· Obtain guarantees of food and beverage events for venues and culinary operations to manage and control labour and food costs
· Initiate billing procedures, ensuring client credit is established and deposits and/or credit applications are received with adequate information and within an acceptable timeline
· Attend and participate in daily/weekly meetings to review event contracts to ensure last minute revisions are communicated with accuracy to sales, banquets, culinary, and any other associated departments
· On floor support to food and beverage team, and on-site liaison to the client
· Fully knowledgeable with current industry trends and competitive offerings
· Attend daily, weekly and monthly departmental communication meetings; as well as divisional and operational meetings
· Working with the sales and catering team to establish good business and social relationships with industry clients and partners by participating in activities to further increase sales opportunities for the Hotel
· Other duties as assigned

It would be an asset if you demonstrated the following qualifications...
· Passion for hospitality and food & beverage with a minimum of 2-3 years of catering and event planning experience for a full-service hotel property
· A post-secondary diploma or degree (required)
· Fluency in English both written and verbal (required)
· A natural salesperson and a proven track record in guest and team member engagement and financial performance.
· Excels at communication, both verbal and written
· Possesses a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
· Flexible and willing to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
· Proven ability with regards to computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Internet and database applications.
· Working knowledge of Delphi is a plus
· Knowledge of forecasting and budgeting process
· Experience using Hilton OnQ brand applications is a definite advantage
