About the Role:
The Staff Accountant supports financial operations by maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and assisting with budgeting and compliance. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple accounting functions within a construction and contracting environment.

Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate general ledger entries and reconcile accounts.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Prepare and review job cost reports for active construction projects.
Support payroll processing and ensure compliance with labor laws.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, GAAP standards, and tax regulations.
Collaborate with project managers to monitor expenses and profitability.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or contracting.
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Qualifications:

Experience with job costing, WIP schedules, and construction accounting systems.
Knowledge of payroll systems and multi-state compliance.
CPA or working toward CPA designation.
Familiarity with project-based financial reporting.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
