Role Overview

Responsible for managing daily production activities on the shop floor, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and effective coordination with inter-department teams. This role requires strong technical knowledge in fabrication, manpower handling, and a drive for continuous improvement in productivity and safety.
Roles and Responsibilities

· • Lead and supervise day-to-day fabrication and production activities

· • Review fabrication drawings and coordinate with design and planning teams

· • Manage manpower allocation and ensure shift-wise productivity

· • Monitor processes like welding, fitting, cutting, and assembly

· • Implement 5S, Lean, and safety practices across the shop floor

· • Ensure timely material availability in coordination with stores and procurement

· • Minimize wastage, control rework, and ensure quality adherence

· • Maintain production reports, logs, and daily MIS

· • Coordinate job completion as per project timelines

· • Mentor and guide junior engineers and production supervisors
Key Skills

· • Manpower and shift management

· • Interpretation of structural fabrication drawings

· • Knowledge of welding standards, tolerances, and material handling

· • Result orientation with problem-solving skills
Technical Knowledge

· • Fabrication process (cutting, welding, fitting, assembly)

· • Structural steel materials, tolerances, and quality standards

· • CNC, plasma, and welding equipment operation

· • ISO standards and shop floor safety compliance

· • Basic understanding of ERP/production software
IT Skills

· • MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

· • AutoCAD / Tekla (basic understanding for drawing reference)

· • ERP system familiarity (preferred)
Qualification & Experience

Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering

Experience: 7–12 years in fabrication production environment
