Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various clinical settings, including hospital medicine, emergency medicine, and critical care. This role is vital in providing high-quality respiratory care to patients across all age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics. The Respiratory Therapist will work closely with physicians and nursing staff to assess patient needs, administer treatments, and monitor patient progress.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine the need for respiratory therapy interventions.
Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including ventilator management and medication administration.
Perform airway management procedures as required in various clinical settings such as the ICU, PICU, and OR.
Monitor vital signs and assess patients' responses to therapy, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and treatment outcomes in accordance with medical terminology standards.
Educate patients and families on respiratory health, treatment options, and home care strategies.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures in all clinical environments.
Requirements
Valid Respiratory Therapy license or certification as required by state regulations.
Experience in hospital settings with a focus on acute care, critical care, or trauma centers (Level I or Level II).
Proficiency in airway management techniques and ventilator operation.
Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to respiratory therapy.
Familiarity with patient assessment techniques and the ability to interpret vital signs accurately.
Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and outpatient settings.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.

1. Credentialed as a registered or certified Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) through the National Board for Respiratory Care.
2. Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with credentials as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) from the Georgia Composite State Board of Medical Examiners (CPAP Department Only).
