About the Role
Monash Health is seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as casual Food Services Assistants. This is an opportunity to work across multiple sites, including Monash Health's brand new residential aged care facility. This role is vital in ensuring that our food preparation and consumption areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Additionally, you will play a key role in preparing and delivering meals to our patients, contributing directly to their care and comfort. As a Food Services Assistant you must maintain a high standard of food hygiene in accordance with cleaning schedules.
A Day in the Life
As an FSA, you will be required to complete multiple tasks during a shift, these will vary according to different sites. A typical day for an FSA would include:
Prepare breakfast and morning tea
Prepare ingredients for cooking
Deliver food trolley to wards and deliver meals to patients
Collect food trays and deliver back to kitchen
Strip, sort, sanitise and clean all trays, cutlery and utensils
Load and operate dishwashers
Ensure proper detergents and cleansers are used, maintaining safe work practices
Clean cooking equipment and utensils

About You
As a Food Services Assistant at Monash Health, you will be required to have;
A competent level of verbal & written communication skills
A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service from a health care or hospitality environment
The capability to prioritise work within established routines, methods and procedures
The ability to work with a cohesive team or individually to complete daily tasks
The ability to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling throughout the site
The ability to demonstrate safe work practices
The ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision.
The ability to work in both residential and hospital setting
What you need:
Safe Food Handling certificate
NDIS worker screening check (desirable)
Employee Working With Children check

We will provide you with supernumerary (buddy) shifts to ensure you are supported in your role
